Medina County Fair – 2024 Visit

GOSA’s Eric German paid a visit to the Medina County Fair on Thursday, August 1st. The heat was the main topic of conversation with temps that day reaching 92 but feeling hotter due to the humidity.

Bates Brothers Amusement Co set-up 18 rides and games along with a popcorn trailer. Now in the heart of County Fair season Michelle and Amy were in great spirits and said the summer was moving along in predictable form.

Matt & Lori Freiling’s huge direct sale operation was set up in its usual location. Peg Kanferski was managing the store on this day so Matt & Lori could start set up at the next location. Peg, a school teacher by trade, has been working for Freiling’s for 26 years.

Jeff Otterbacher was enjoying the midway with his daughters Nela and Elizabeth. The Otterbacher’s were well represented at the fair. In addition to Jeff’s Dippin Dots, Penny and Jasmine had concession trailers, and Kurt field a nice line-up of games.

David Drake was busy making calls, presumably on behalf of the CARE ACT (H.R. 1787), while manning one of his ice cream units. Jeff Otterbacher said to date 61 Members of Congress have signed on as sponsors or cosponsors of the bill. The goal of hitting 100 sponsors gets closer each month.  (For information on the CARE Act, click HERE.)

Lots of other GOSA members spotted on the midway including, Raders Ice Cream, Kolar French Waffles, Linville’s Italian Eatery, Barry Hassinger, Linn, and DiRusso’s Sausage.
