Membership Benefits
Listing in the Annual Yearbook & Buyers Guide

This publication is sent to all members, fairs, and festivals in the State of Ohio.  This is both an invaluable resource and marketing opportunity for our members.  Additional listings and full color ads are also available for purchase.  Members also receive their own copy of the yearbook, and listings published on the online membership directory.

Newsletters

Newsletters are published a minimum of four times per year and are packed with information for our members. Stay up to date with announcements, meeting minutes, legislative updates, industry news, classified ads, photographs, event reminders, the Concessionaire’s Corner, links to online content, and more!  Visit the newsletter page HERE.

Legislative Representation

The GOSA contracts with Government Advantage Group lobbying services to keep an ear to the ground at the statehouse so that we are kept abreast of laws or regulations that affect our industry.  Our lobbyist speaks to state representatives on these issues, prepares our members to testify when necessary, and assists the board with drafting position statements.

Public Relations with Fairs, Festivals, & Special Events

GOSA representatives attend the OFMA spring dinners each year as well as OFMA board meetings.  We maintain an office during the OFMA convention in January.  Our trade show booth appears in multiple locations throughout the year to help promote the GOSA, including the OFEA convention in November.

Events & Outings

The GOSA offers several opportunities to celebrate together, as well to network with other members.  We sponsor tables at the OFMA convention gala for our members.  We host an annual bowling party in January, events during the IISA trade show in February, Hit the Road Party in March, jamboree events through the summer, and the Fall Round Up in Circleville in October.

Death Benefit

Regular members affiliating with the GOSA before their 51st birthday and maintaining continuous membership may name a beneficiary and participate in the Memorial Fund.  The named beneficiary will receive $1000 upon death of the member.

Scholarships

Each year the GOSA awards $1500 scholarships to many deserving and qualified full time college students in our industry “family”.  Click HERE for more information on the scholarship programs available and to see a list of past recipients.

Awards & Recognition

The GOSA believes it is important to recognize those who go above and beyond in our industry.  Nominations are accepted only from our paid members.  Annual awards recipients are selected in November and presented at the annual meeting during the OFMA convention.  Spring awards are presented at OFMA spring dinners.  Click HERE for more information.

Voting Rights & Meeting Participation

The GOSA exists for the membership and believes that participation in the process of running the organization is very important.  The following members are eligible to vote at the annual meeting held each year during the OFMA convention:  Regular, Spouse, Retiree.  Any member may attend, observe, and participate in board meetings.

We encourage you to join the only organization in the State of Ohio that is working for YOU, supporting all facets of the outdoor amusement industry!
