Advocacy

Your GOSA lobbyist provides continuous legislative watch by, monitoring and getting directly involved in proposed legislation that effects your business and the outdoor amusement industry in Ohio.  Visit this page for legislative information and news.

The GOSA retains a seat on the Ohio Retail Food Safety Advisory Council with a representative on the Food Service Operations panel providing the outdoor amusement industry a greater profile and influence in food safety, regulations, and licensing.

Representation in the Industry

Your GOSA executive board maintains open lines of communication with the Ohio Fair Managers Association, Ohio Festival and Events Association, and Outdoor Amusement Business Association.

Events

The GOSA annual meeting and gala take place in conjunction with the Ohio Fair Managers Convention in Columbus. The Midwest Safety & Operations Conference provides members certified NARRSO training for ride owners and operation workshops for concessionaires.

GOSA weekly e-news and up to 6 comprehensive newsletters provides timely news and information about the industry in Ohio and beyond.  Visit the newsletter page HERE.

GOSA Yearbook and Buyer’s Guide, published annually, is a valuable industry resource used by fairs and festivals throughout Ohio.  Members also receive their own copy of the yearbook, and listings published on the online membership directory.

Death Benefit

Regular members affiliating with the GOSA and maintaining continuous membership for 10 years become eligible to name a beneficiary and participate in the Memorial Fund.  The named beneficiary will receive $1000 upon death of the member.

Scholarships

Each year the GOSA awards $1500 scholarships to many deserving and qualified full time college students in our industry “family”.  Click HERE for more information on the scholarship programs available and to see a list of past recipients.

Voting Rights & Meeting Participation

The GOSA exists for the membership and believes that participation in the process of running the organization is very important.  The following members are eligible to vote at the annual meeting held each year during the OFMA convention:  Regular, Spouse, Retiree.  Any member may attend, observe, and participate in board meetings.
