2023 Ohio State Fair Report
Kick off week for this year’s State Fair was busy as usual. The Department of Agriculture Division of Ride Safety held their Media Day on Monday, July 24. Director Brain Baldridge and David Miram addressed the media while Chief ride inspector Ron Dean conducted a ride inspection demonstration. GOSA was invited to participate and represented by Eric German to address questions regarding NARRSO training through Ohio TechCred.
On Thursday, July 27 the Ohio Ride Safety Advisory Board held it’s quarterly meeting at Kasich Hall. GOSA is represented on the advisory board by Nick Blois Jr. of McGinnnis Amusements and Kyle Kissel of Kissel Amusements. Past GOSA board member Doug Guinsler serves on the board on behalf of the Ohio Fair Managers Association.
Talley Amusements fielded 74 rides along with games and concessions. All ride tickets and wristbands were sold via Magic Money machines again this year.
The independent food midway was fully booked. GOSA members Dor-Lo Concessions and Dissusos Sausage were spotted serving hungry guests early in the day.
